Back in Business from ... Cat Patches

It was another no sewing day, but I'm happy to say that I spent most of the day putting my sewing room back in order. Now, I'm happy to say it's back!!! And since that's how I spent most of the day, I took a few pictures.


Generally, I'm working at this end of the table. The sewing machine and ironing board are at this end of the room. It's entirely too tidy right now. I need to spread out with some fabric and thread and make a good ole mess, don't you ...

New Toy in the Toy Room from Needle and Foot

If you are around my age, you might remember Betsy McCall. This cute paper doll was printed in McCall’s Magazine beginning in the early 1950’s. I am unsure how long the doll was included in the magazine but I did read that Barbie took over in popularity pushing poor Betsy aside. I remember cutting out the dolls and her clothes though. As kids, my sisters and I also enjoyed these booklets made of heavier paper with dolls and their clothing printed in them. I think the printings were perforated so it was easier to ‘cut’ them out.

Some Slow Stitching from ... Cat Patches

It was a better day yesterday. Things fell into place more easily. I didn't get any sewing done, but I got a whole lot of slow-stitching accomplished. Also, a crew showed up to wash and wax the RV much earlier than we expected them, and they had the whole job finished in less than two hours. The RV is looking good now.

While they were working on that, I was finishing off the second snowflake. It's hard to get it pressed nice and flat with my travel iron, but here's how it looks:
